Web Site Design and Development

Even more than software applications, web sites seem to permeate our lives.  We use Internet web sites for shopping and researching special interests, intranets for communicating with our business colleagues, and extranets for working with our external business partners.

As critical as they are, not all of them are easy to use.  Search engines help us find what we need on the Internet but we are left wanting within intranet and extranet sites.  Here, organization is what we depend on to easily find information.  But with multiple authors, how is a consistent organization to be had?

At Knowledge Architects, we work with you through a discovery and analysis process that identifies the informational requirements of your particular web-based communication needs.  We use these requirements to drive the information architecture for your site and we use ProtoShare, a collaborative website development tool which allows you to experience and effect your design much earlier than using conventional methods. ProtoShare improves communication and reduces overall costs by providing simple, browser-based, real-time collaboration environment that allows client interaction during all phases of development: prototype, design, and deployment.

We also help mitigate development costs by leveraging tried and true platforms that support web development.  For Internet web sites, we use a variety of content management systems (CMS) that provide functional and aesthetic flexibility.  For intranet and extranet sites, we use Windows SharePoint Server (WSS 3.0) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007.  These scalable platforms are robust and support a variety of applications such as business intelligence reporting and integration with your line of business (LOB) applications, and document and records management.
